Hi to all the Pen aficionados. Today I will be digging into Armando Simoni Club Pens. Though the name sounds like a high-end Hollywood style club, trust me it is no less. Complete with American heritage and styling, the ASC Gladiatore Medio Arco Bronze fountain pen is as popular as Arnold Schwarzenegger. Well in fact the name also resonates with the personality of Arnold Schwarzenegger. This is my personal view.
With majestic build on a rare OMAS celluloid material, the ASC Gladiatore medio Arco Bronze fountain pen is a show stopper. The celluloid has various textures and sheen in golden brown colour which gives this series an amazing personality. Also known as ASC, the pens are beautiful and full of character.
Adorned with an 18KT solid Gold nib, beautifully engraved with a greek pattern, the nib is available in three sizes. i.e Fine, Medium and Broad. The trims are with heavy gold platings. The band on the cap has the famous greek key pattern. The ink filling system is the old world pneumatic piston filler with an ink capacity of almost 2.1ml which is a lot compared to modern generation convertors that are around 1ml.

Though the brand ASC is American, all the elements of styling and design, reflect the Greek heritage. The design on the band and the nib for instance reflect the greek design philosophy. The material from the OMAS collection reflects european grandeur. Probably thats why this pen has been aptly named “The Gladiatore”

I personally recommend this pen as a collectors choice for two simple reasons. 1) The celluloid used is a rare OMAS, 2) beautiful craftmanship which has changed a simple block of celluloid to a piece of art.
